Marlins run over the Nats, 9-5.

The Nats starting pitching did not look good as Garret Mock gave up six runs (5 earned) in only 4.2 innings pitched. Mock might be heading way up north as he had another disappointing effort.

The Nats offense did pound out 12 hits. The Nats offense was led by Mike Morse 3 hits.

Finally, Mr. Prez!!!! Obama is making his Pitch!

It took the President a year to get it right!! He is throwing out the first pitch for the 2010 opener at Nats' Park against the hated Phillies!!! I wrote about this very topic when he did not throw out the first pitch last year. ( http://nats9.blogspot.com/2009/04/ohhh-mr-president-where-did-you-go.html )

I am glad he is finally coming to his senses and continuing the proud tradition of the President throwing out the first pitch in D.C.!

Let's hope he is wearing a Nats Jacket or Jersey!!!

Go Nats!

Chris Coste is claimed by the Nats

Chris Coste was claimed by the Nats off the Mets' waivers. He is an insurance policy due to what happen to Jaime Burke.

Mets.Nats game canceled due to weather.

Today's game was canceled due to weather.

4/5 of a Tank! We need one more.

It has been reported that John Lannan, Jason Marquis, Craig Stammen and Livan Hernandez have all made the starting rotation for our Washington Nationals for the beginning of the 2010 Season. One more starter will be named later to finish out the Nats' rotation.

A Maxwell Memory as he is sent way up North.

Well it been reported couple days ago that Justin Maxwell was sent to Syracuse due to his troubles at the plate. Good luck to Justin because he can sure play some mean outfield.

I want to mention my fondest memory of Justin. It was the walk off grand slam on the last home game of the 2009 season to beat the hated Mets!! I was about to leave the game soI strolled down from my seat at the end of the Mets' half of the ninth. I decided then I would watch and see if the Nats could somehow get a rally going. I ended up standing next to the MASN's post game set-up tent.

I stayed with each pitch and saying to myself this is interesting. The drama grew! Grew! GRew! GREw! and GREW! I was sucked right to the very end! The Mets' K-Rod versus the Nats' struggling slugger. A full count! I could not believe what I saw! A fly ball! What happen? Did the Mets' outfielder catch it? or was it a home run! The fans went wild! I went CRAZY! It was a grand slam! We beat the Mets again and this time in Walk Off STYLE!!

I remember yelling at Ray Knight!!!! "TALK about this one Baby!" I was so exicted I ran out of Nationals Park screaming at the top of my lungs! What a memory and what a night!

Thank You Justin! Good Luck in Syracuse:)

Nats9 Fans agree with Riggleman!

Nats9 followers also said that Ian Desmond should be the starting shortshop!!!

The Nats had a good game against the Braves. Scott Olsen pitch a fine game by pitching 5.1 innings and giving up only one earn run. He is making his case as the fifth starter. The Nats' offense pounded out 13 hits. Highlighted by Ryan Zimmerman's sixth homer of the spring.

Duh!!! It's Desmond!!

I am not really sure why people are surprise by the decision that Ian Desmond was named the starting shortstop. He played a great shortstop in September to end last year and he has kept it rolling this Spring! Cristian Guzman just came off surgery and his range is not what it once was when he first came to Washington in 2005. Guzman is beginning that stage of his career where "Jack-of-All Trades" will keep him getting a nice paycheck.

I response to all the posts I read about this situation as...DUH! It's Desmond.

The Nats Split Squads split two: Braves 4 Nats 0; Nats 7 Mets 5.

Thank You "Da Meat Hook"!

Dmitri Young retired. I want thank him for his joy of the game he gave Washington. He always made it fun when he was in the game! I will always remember his "finger wiggle" he gave to his team after a big hit. Cristin Guzman has since taken those duties over.
