The Marlins Blank the Nats once again, 1-0.

The Nats' bats did not show up once again. It was their second straight game being shut out to the Florida Marlins and this time they lost 1-0. The Nats have not scored a run in the last 21 innings.!!! The good news is that the Nats' pitching has only allowed 3 runs over the last 27 innings. The Nats drop to 40-52 and are still in last place of the NL East.


Pitching:

Craig Stammen took the lost as he pitched six innings while only giving up one run. Joe Peralta pitched two scoreless innings in relief.


Hitting:

The Nats scored no runs on eight hits. It was the second straight game which the Nats out hit the Marlins. The Nats had eight different players which had one hit a piece. The Nats left nine men on base and were 0-9 with runners in scoring position.

The Fish Return the Favor and Blanks Nats, 2-0.

The Nats had plenty opportunities against the Florida Marlins last night, but were unable to score a run in a 2-0 lost. The Marlins returned the favor of being shut out the game before and blanked the Nats. The Nats are 40-51 and are still in last place of the NL East.


Pitching:

Livan Hernandez took the lost as he pitched 6 innings while only giving up two runs which one was earned. Tyler Clippard pitched two shut out innings of relief.

Hitting:

The Nats scored NO RUNS on ELEVEN HITS! The Nats were led by Roger Bernadina with three hits. The Nats left 10 men on base and were 0-9 with runners in scoring position!!

Nats Swim away from the Fish, 4--0.

The Nats scored four runs in the 6th inning while the their pitching staff shut out the Florida Marlins for a 4 to nothing victory. The victory snapped a two game losing skid; the Nats improve to 40-50 and still are in last place of the NL East.

Pitching:

Stephen Strasburg made it work against the Marlins last night by pitching six shut innings while giving up no runs. Strasburg also added 7 strike outs. The bullpen of Drew Storen and Matt Capps pitched a combine 3 innings of no run relief to complete the shut out of the Marlins.


Hitting:

The Nats scored 4 runs on 8 hits. Adam Dunn led the Nats with two hits. Josh Willingham had 3 RBI with a 3 run double in the 6th inning.

The SF Giants won the last series before the All-Star Break. verses Our Nats by beating them Saturday and Sunday!

Happy Birthday to ME!

I was at last night's game as the Nats topped the Giants, 8-1. It was a nice present to see Strasburg be on his game and Dunn doing his Thang! Thanks Boys for a nice present!

I always like to thanks my friend that came out to the game with me! It was a blast!!

Comings and Goings ..... 7/9/10

Luis Atilano was sent down to Triple A so he could conitue to pitche over the all-star break. It is believe he will be called back after the break. Justin Maxwell was called up to replace Atilano on the roster.

Strasburgs is limited to 160 Innings.

Jim Riggleman announced yesterday that Strasburg was going to be limited to 160 innings this year. He will be closed down when he reaches that point.

Strasburg and Dunn Power Nats over the Giants, 8-1.

Stephen Strasburg had a solid effort combined with Adam Dunn's power which was too much for the SF Giants as the Nats won 8-1. The Nats have won 3 out of their last four games against the NL West opponents. The Nats are 39-48 and are still in last place of the NL East.

Pitching:

Stephen Strasburg pitched 6 soild innings as he only gave up one run while striking out 8 in his third victory of the year. Sean Burnett, Drew Storen and Joe Peralta combined for 3 scoreless inning.


Hitting:

The Nats' bats scored 8 runs on 13 hits!! Adam Dunn and Willie Harris both had three hits apiece which led the Nats. It was Dunn's power that ignited the Nats as he had two homers which was his 21st and 22nd of the year combined with three RBI.

Nats Fall to Padres, 7-1.

The SD Padres dominated the Nats the whole game by great pitching and hitting four homers to them to a 7-1 victory. The Nats though still won the series two games to one. The Nats fall to 38-48 and are still in last place of the NL East.


Pitching:

Luis Atilano pitched 5.1 inning while giving up 4 runs took the lost. The bullpen of Miguel Batista, Joe Peralta, and Doug Slaten combined to pitched 3.2 innings as they gave up 3 runs.


Hitting:

The Nats scored only one run on eight hits. The Nats were led by Roger Bernadina and Adam Kennedy who both had two hits a piece. Adam Dunn had an RBI.

Dunn gets it Done! Nats Top Padres, 7-6.

Adam Dunn powered the Nats to a 7-6 victory over the SD Padres last night with his 3 homers and 5 RBI. The Nats' bat have heated up in the last two games against the Padres. The Nats are 38-47 and are still in last place of the NL East.


Pitching:

J.D Martin pitched 5.2 innings while giving up 3 runs in first victory of the year. The bullpen once again made it interesting in last night game. The relief pitchers had a 4 run lead, but almost gave it all back in the late innings. The bullpen of Joe Peralta, Sean Burnett, Drew Storen and Matt Capps combined for 3.1 innings while giving up 3 runs. Matt Capps did get his 23rd save of the year.

Hitting:

The Nats scored 7 runs on 9 hits. The Nats were led by Adam Dunn's three hits. Dunn is up to 20 homers this year with his three from last night. Also, Ian Desmond hit his 6th homer last night as he has homered in consecutive games.

Walk it off Zim!!! Nats beat Padres, 6-5.

Ryan Zimmerman hit his 2nd homer of the game to win the game in walk off fashion against the San Diego Padres, 6-5. The Nats' bullpen gave up the a 5-2 led and wasted Livan Hernandez's strong outing. The Nats improve to 37-47 and are still in last place of the NL East.

Pitching:

Hernandez pitched 7 plus strong innings while giving up 4 runs in a no decision. Reliever Tyler Clifford was credited with his 17th hold despite giving up an unearned run. Sean Burnett blew his first save which was aided by a Ian Desmond's error. Matt Capps earned his 3rd victory of the year by pitching a scoreless 9th inning.


Hitting:

The Nats scored 6 runs on 11 hits. Zimmerman and Micheal Morse led the Nats with 3 hits a piece. Zimmerman homers were his 15th and 16th of the year. Ian Desmond hit his 5th of the year. Zimmerman and Morse both had 2 RBI each.

Nats comeback attempt fall short against Mets, 9-5.

The Nats fell behind the New York Mets by a score of 8-0 in yesterday game. The Nats would out score the Mets 5 to 1 the rest of the way but still lost. The Nats had many opportunities to get closer but they left ten men on base. The Nats fall to 36-47 and are still in last place of the NL East.


Pitching:

Craig Stammen could not put together solid back to back starts as he took the lost as he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up 7 runs. Miguel Batista gave up 2 runs in his 3 innings of relief work, but he did strike out 7 Mets. Sean Burnett, Tyler Clifford and Joe Peralta combined for 2.2 innings of shut out relief.

Hitting:

The Nats scored 5 runs on 12 hits. Cristen Guzman and Ryan Zimmerman led the Nats with 3 hits a piece. Zimmerman hit his 14th homer of the year and also had 4 RBI.

Nats Come All the Way Back to Beat the Mets, 6-5.

The Nats did what they should have done on Friday night on Saturday afternoon. The Nats got to New York Mets reliever Frankie Rodriquez for 3 runs in the bottom of the 9th inning to win by a score of 6-5. The Nats bats struggled early by being shut out the first five innings. The Nats would score 6 runs over the last 4 innings! The Nats are 7-4 against the Mets this year. The Nats are currently 36-46 and in last place of the NL East.

Pitching:

Starer Stephen Strasburg struggle with his command during his 5 innings of work as he gave up 2 runs. Reliever Drew Storen pitched two scoreless inning. Tyler Clifford struggled in his .2 inning of work as he gave up 3 runs. Doug Slaten pitched .1 of inning while giving up no runs, but he should thank Matt Capps who picked up the victory as Capps pitched out of trouble caused by Slaten in his 1 inning of work.

Hitting:

The Nats scored 6 runs on 11 hits. The Nats were led by Adam Dunn and Ivan Rodriquez who both had 3 hits a piece. Dunn had a huge two run double in the ninth inning. Rodriquez had the walk off hit to win the game!!

Mets Hold off Nats, 5-3.

The Nats ended last night's lost to the New York Mets, 5-3, in unconventional fashion. The Nats trailing by 2 runs with the tying runners on 1st and 2nd base; Willie Harris representing the winning run at home had a three two count on him with two outs. Mets' reliever Frankie Rodriquez turned around and threw to second base as he picked off Roger Bernadina to end the game. It was a disappointing game because the Nats had trailed the Mets by a score of 5-1 entering the bottom of the 9th inning only to lose in disappointing fashion. The Nats drop to 35-46 and are still in last place of the NL East.



Pitching:



Luis Atilano took the lost as he pitched 3.2 innings while giving up five runs. The bullpen of Joe Peralta, Sean Burnett and Miguel Batista combined for 5.1 innings of shut out relief to keep the Nats in the ball game.



Hitting:



The Nats scored 3 runs on nine hits. Ian Desmond, Josh Willingham and Nyjer Morgan led the Nats with two hits a piece. Willingham hit his 15th homer of the year.

Nats9 Taking Teen Camp to the Ball Game tonight!

I am a Teen Camp Diretor in NOVA and taking my Teen Camp to the Ball Game against the New York Mets tonight! We will be in Section 302. Wish me good luck!

Zimmerman Walk Off Sac Fly Wins It! Nats Comeback and beat Mets, 2-1.

Last night the Nats topped the New York Mets in a pitching duel,2-1. The Nats scored two runs in the 7th and 9th inning to complete a comeback and beat the rival Mets. The Nats started off the home stand in good fashion as they are now 35-45 and are still in last place of the NL East.


Pitching:

Livan Hernandez had another great outing. He pitched 7 innings while only giving up one run. Drew Storen pitched a no run 8th inning. Matt Capps picked his first win as he pitched a scoreless 9th.

Hitting:

The Nats scored two runs on 9 hits. Nyjer Morgan and Cristin Guzman led the Nats with two hits a piece.

Braves Top Nats, 4-1.

The Nats did out hit the Atlanta Braves last night, but did not get any timely hits against the them in a 4-1 lost. The lost of opportunity cost the Nats to win the game. The Nats drop to 34-45 and are still in last place in the NL East.


Pitching:

J.D Martin took the lost as he pitched 5 innings while giving up 3 runs. Doug Slaten also gave up a run in his .1 inning of work. Joe Peralta, Miguel Batista, and Matt Capps combined to pitch 2.2 innings of shut out relief.

Hitting:

The Nats scored only one run, but managed eight hits. The Nats were led by Adam Dunn's two hits.
