Today game versus the Astros was suspended due to the rain. The Nats have a runner, Elijah Dukes, at first base with one out in the 11th inning of a 10-10 game. The Nats came back from a 5-2 deficit, but also had a 8-5 and a 10-9 lead during the game.
The pitching was suspect again. Scott Olsen pitched 5 innings, but gave up 5 runs. Saul Rivera pitched a scoreless 7th, but relievers, Julian Tavarez, Garret Mock, and Kip Wells gave up 5 runs in 4 innings. Currently, Joel Hanrahan is pitching and he has allowed no runs in his one inning of relief.
The Nats have pounded out 10 hits today. Cristen Guzman, Nick Johnson, Ryan Zimmerman and Elijah Dukes all have multiple hit game. Dukes and Guzman both have homered and have two RBI each. Zimmerman extended his hitting streak to 23 games.

Nats' Notes 5.5.09
Today's Nats' Notes:
- Joe Beimel will be back Wednesday.
- Stephen Strasburg is on top of the Nats' draft board.
Offense support Lannan in a 9-4 win versus Astros.
John Lannan had a shaky start, but the offense supplied the runs to give him his first victory of the year. Lannan allowed four runs in six innings of work. Joel Hanrahan and Garret Mock pitched three innings of shut out relief in Lannan's behalf.
The offense was lead by red hot Ryan Zimmerman who had 4 hits and 2 RBI. Zimmerman continue his hit streak to 22 games. Anderson Hernandez, Cristen Guzman and Elijah Dukes all had multi-hit game. Dukes added 3 RBI.

Nats' Notes 5.3.09- UPDATED
Nats' Notes from yesterday and today:
- Ronnie Belliard was schedule to start yesterday game, but was bench due to lateness.
- Relief pitcher Mike MacDougal was signed to a minor league contract.
Martis goes the distance as Nats top Cardinals, 6-1.
Martis made the bullpen issue a mute point by pitching a complete game masterpiece. He went all nine inning giving up only five hits and one run. The complete game was the first by a National since 2006 and the first at Nationals Park.
The offense was lead by Anderson Hernandez, Austin Kearns, and Ryan Zimmerman who each had two hits a piece. Adam Dunn added a three run homer. Zimmerman extended his hitting streak to 21 games.

Cards are too much for JZ, 6-2
Jordan Zimmermann took his first MLB lost in a 6-2 defeat to the St. Louis Cardinals, 6-2. Zimmermann made their major mistakes which were 3 home runs which resulted in 5 runs in 5 2/3 innings.
The Nats's offense was lead by Jesus Flores, Nick Johnson and Ryan Zimmerman who each had two hits a piece. Flores had his second triple in two day.s The only runs by the Nats came from Willie Harris' two run homer in the seventh inning. Zimmerman continue his hitting streak which is now at 20 games.

KaBOOM goes the Nats' bullpen in lost to Cardinals, 9-4
The Nats' bullpen fell apart against the Cardinals last night in a 9-4 lost. The Nats had fought back and took a 4-3 lead in the 6th inning, but it went down hill from that point. The Cardinals scored one run in the 7th inning and 5 more in the 9th to win the ball game.
The pitching was the major problem. The Nats' starter Daniel Cabrera had a fair performance in which he threw 4 wild pitches and gave up three runs in his 6 innings of work. The bullpen was a complete failure with Mike Hinckley, Logan Kensing, Kip Wells, Julian Tavarez and Joel Hanrahan pitching ineffectively in their 3 innings of work. Kensing had a blown save and Tavarez took the lost.
The Nats' offense was lead by Ryan Zimmerman's homer and Jesus Flores' two hits. Zimmerman had two RBI and Flores had one. Zimmerman extended his hitting streak to 19 games.
