Who is the 4th and 5th Starters??

The Nats have pencil in John Lannan, Scott Olsen and Daniel Cabrera as 3/5 of the Nats' rotation. The last two spots are open with pitchers Jordan Zimmerman, Shairon Martis and Colin Balester.

Jordan Zimmerman has had the best spring up to this time. Martis is pitching much better then the struggling Balester. The only question to me is what does the Nats' brain trust want to do to Zimmerman. Do they want more seasoning through the minors or let the boy go against Major League competition.

The no brainer at this point would be Zimmerman and Martis as the 4th and 5th starters based on spring training results.

Tigers tops the Nats, 5-2.

The Nats makes their first cut this spring. The bigger names were Mike O'Connor, Ross Detwiler, Chris Marrero. The complete story is the following Link:

3 More Comments from Nats9

1. Do we keep Terrell Young. He is our Rule 5 player we drafted. Mr. Young has to make the team the Spring or he goes back to the Reds, his original team. He has done a decent job for the Nats this Spring. I believe you keep the man and let him pitch on this young team.

2. I believe Wily Mo Pena's clock has struck midnight for the Nationals. Pena is just a "Poor Man's" Adam Dunn. The Nats already have Adam Dunn.

3. Brad Elred is competing for the back up 1st baseman job for the Nats or least some power off the Nats' bench. I am not sure what kind of defensive player he is at this moment.

Kissing the Mets for a Tie! 5 to 5.

The Nats blew an early 5-0 lead to the Mets today. Homers by Elijah Dukes and Brad Elred gave the Nats the early lead. Jordan Zimmerman had another decent outing. Five Comments plus one from Nats9!

1)Its looks like Mike Rizzo will get the general manager job if keeps the boat steady. He has a good track record with his time with the Arizona Diamondbacks. But is he Stan Kasten main man? We will find out!

2)John Lannan looks like the early ace for the Nats this year. He been very solid this spring.

3)Shawn Hill is going down the John Patterson path. The fact that he is hurt too much this spring is killing me! He is no doubt a bulldog, but right now a hurt bulldog.

5)Please, oh please, tell me that the orinigal Screech is coming back. Please push for his speedy return! Should we say a novena? The "new" screech needs to find another team! Are the P-Nats looking for a mascot?

Daniel "Sad Face" Lugo really was the beginning of the end for Mr. Jim Bowden. He resigned as general manager of the Washington Nationals this morning.

Mr. Kasten has not named a replacement yet. Mr. Boone or Mr. Rizzo looks like his replacement. But always remember there could be a dark horse in the waiting.
