Nats9's Fan unsure about the future of the starting pitching!

The poll of my Nats9 followers really did give much input on the latest poll which tells me we as fans are unsure about the future of our starting pitching.

Happy 4th of July Comeback versus the Braves,5-3!

The Nats might have pulled off their most exciting victory of the year as they beat the Braves 5-3 on the 4th of July! The Nats was only able to get 1 run in 7 innings against the Braves’ starter Tommy Hanson, but scored 4 runs in the 8th off the Braves’ bullpen for a 5-3 win!

Pitching:

John Lannan pitched 8 tough innings for his 6th victory of the year by allowing only 3 runs. Mike MacDougal came in the 9th inning to pick up his 4th save of the year.

Batting:

The Nats collected 5 runs on only 7 hits. Adam Dunn led the Nats with two hits which included his 22nd homer of the year and 300th of his career! Dunn also added the hit that put the Nats ahead for good in the 8th inning with a RBI single. Ryan Zimmerman had two RBI on a bases loaded single in the 8th to tie the game at three. Josh Willingham also had a clutch hit to produce an RBI to give the Nats an important insurance run in the 8th.

Record:

The Nats improve to 23-55 and continue to be in last place of the NL East.

Next Game:

The Nats finish up the quick home stand tomorrow as Scott Olsen takes on the Braves’ Derek Lowe at 1:35pm.

Nats comeback comes up short against Braves, 9-8.

The Nats offense produced 8 runs in last night’s game versus the Atlanta Braves but it was not enough in a 9-8 lost. The Nats had the tying run on base in the 9th inning, but Josh Bard was unable to produce a game tying hit. The Nats pitching again was the main culprit in the lost.

Pitching:

Ross Detwiler only lasted 3.1 innings in his start and he gave up 5 runs and 10 hits. The bullpen did not do any better. The pen gave up 4 more runs in the lost. The play of the game was a pinch 3-run homer by Braves’ Brooks Conrad off Jesus Colome in the 7th inning who took the lost. Julian Tavarez also walked in the 9th run of the game in the 8th inning.

Batting:

The Nats collected 8 hits, and scored 8 runs. The Nats were led by Cristen Guzman’s two hits and three RBI . Adam Dunn connected on his 21st homer of the year and I must add it was a blast!

Record:

Next Game:

The Nats next game is today at 1:05 pm as John Lannan takes on the Braves’ Tommy Hanson on the 4th of July!
