The Nats scored a 5-3 victory against the Braves yesterday as they won this holiday weekend series. But it wasn’t easy as the Braves had the go ahead runner on in the 9th inning, but Mike MacDougal earned his 5th save for Scott Olsen second win of the year.
Pitching:
Olsen pitched a great 8.2 innings to give the Nats’ starters back to back 8 inning outings. Mike MacDougal came in the 9th inning to pick up his 5th save of the year.
Batting:
The Nats collected 5 runs on 14 hits. Nyjer Morgan led the Nats with three hits and a stolen base. Cristen Guzman, Ronnie Belliard and Olsen each added two hits a piece.

The Nats improve to 24-55 and continue to be in last place of the NL East.
Next Game:
The Nats start a 7 game road trip to Colorado and Houston. The trip includes the conclusion for the suspension game versus Houston early this year. The road trip starts tonight in Colorado as Craig Stammen takes on the Rockies’ Jason Marquis at 8:40pm.
