Walk it off Zim!!! Nats beat Padres, 6-5.

Ryan Zimmerman hit his 2nd homer of the game to win the game in walk off fashion against the San Diego Padres, 6-5. The Nats' bullpen gave up the a 5-2 led and wasted Livan Hernandez's strong outing. The Nats improve to 37-47 and are still in last place of the NL East.

Pitching:

Hernandez pitched 7 plus strong innings while giving up 4 runs in a no decision. Reliever Tyler Clifford was credited with his 17th hold despite giving up an unearned run. Sean Burnett blew his first save which was aided by a Ian Desmond's error. Matt Capps earned his 3rd victory of the year by pitching a scoreless 9th inning.


Hitting:

The Nats scored 6 runs on 11 hits. Zimmerman and Micheal Morse led the Nats with 3 hits a piece. Zimmerman homers were his 15th and 16th of the year. Ian Desmond hit his 5th of the year. Zimmerman and Morse both had 2 RBI each.
