Brewers pound the Nats, 7-3.

The Nats drop the opening game of their four game set with the Milwaukee Brewers by a score of 7-3. J.D Martin gave a solid effort but the bullpen and offense did not come through for the Nats


Pitching:

Starter J.D. Martin pitched 6.2 innings and allowed 4 runs. The Nats were still in the game, but the bullpen allowed 3 runs in only 1.2 innings.

Batting:

The Nats collected 5 hits, and scored 3 runs. The Nats were led by Ryan Zimmerman who had two hits. Adam Dunn and Zimmerman each homered in the game. Zimmerman established a career high in homers with twenty five.

Record:

The Nats dropped to 43-79 and continue to be in last place of the NL East.

The Nats next game is tonight in NatsTown against the Brewers as John Lannan takes on the Brewers Mike Burns at 7:05pm.
