Cards outduel Nats, 2-1.

Cardinals 2 Nats 1

The Cardinals won a tight game by a score of 2-1. Adam Wainwright out dueled Garrett Mock in a classic pitching battle. The difference was an Albert Pujols RBI single in the 6th inning.


Pitching:

Starter Garrett Mock had one of his better performance of the year as he pitched 6 innings and gave up only 2 runs. The bullpen of Tyler Clippard, Sean Burnett and Mike MacDougal gave an excellent effort as they combined no runs in their combine two innings of work.

Batting:

The Nats managed only 4 hits and one run. The highlight of the offense was an RBI single by Elijah Dukes.

Record:

The Nats dropped to 46-85 and continue to be in last place of the NL East.

Next Game:

The Nats next game is today in San Diego against the Padres as Livan Hernandez takes on the Padres’ Tim Stauffer at 10:05pm.
