Cards sneek by the Nats, 3-2.

The Cardinals and the Nationals had another pitchers duel between the Cards' Chris Carpenter and the Nats' John Lannan. The difference in the game was an 8th inning homer by the Cards' Ryan Ludwick. The Nats are currently 20-20 and are in 3rd place of the NL East.


Pitching:

John Lannan put in a solid effort as he pitched 6 innings while giving up 1 run. Sean Burnett pitched one inning of shut out relief. Tyler Clifford took his third lost as he gave up the homer in the 8th inning.


Hitting:

The Nats scored 2 runs on nine hits. The Nats were led by Cristen Guzman who had three hits. Wil Nieves hit his 1st homer of the year. The difference in this game was that the Nats could not get runners in on third base with less then two outs.
