The Nats must have been singing the late Eddie Rabbit's song ( I love a Rainy Night) because they won a rain shorten 8th inning game which they score the most runs so far this year in a 14-6 rout of the Rockies. Ryan Zimmerman once again hit two homers in game and the Nats pounded out 16 hits. The Nats are currently 20-15 and are in second of the NL East. The Nats also led the NL in the wildcat race.
Pitching:
Starter John Lannan reclaimed his spot in the starting rotation but lasted only 4.2 innings while giving up 4 runs. Miguel Batista pitched 1.2 innings but gave up 2 runs in his relief spot. Doug Slaten picked up his first win as he pitched .2 of an inning without giving up a run. Brian Bruney finally had an effective one inning of shut out relief.
Hitting:
The Nats scored 14 runs on 16 hits. Ryan Zimmerman and Josh Willingham led the Nats with three hits apiece. Zimmerman's homers were his 7th and 8th of the year. Zimmerman also had 6 RBI.
