The Nats dropped two at Colorado in Denver yesterday. The first game it was 6-2 and the second was 4-3.
Game 1
Pitching:
Livan Hernandez was out dueled by Ubaldo Jimenez once again. Livo pitched 6 innings while giving up 3 runs. Doug Slaten pitched one inning and did not give up a run. Brian Bruney is walking on thin ice as he gave up 3 runs in the 8th inning.
Hitting:
The Nats scored only two runs on seven hits. Ryan Zimmerman led the Nats with three hits. Adam Dunn hit his 8th homer of the year.
Game 2
Pitching:
Luis Atilano was not at his best but kept his team in the game as he pitched 5 innings while giving up 3 runs. Sean Burnett took the lost as he gave up 1 unearned run in his two innings of work. Tyler Walker pitched one inning of shut out relief.
Hitting:
The Nats scored 3 runs on seven hits. Ryan Zimmerman and Roger Bernadina led the Nats with two hits apiece. Adam Dunn hit his 9th homer of the year.
The Nationals are currently 20-17 and are in second place of the NL East. The are in second place in the NL Wild card race.
