Padres sting the Nats in extras, 3-2.

The Padres beat the Nats in 11 innings, 3-2, but the Nats hurt themselves with the leather today. A costly 11th inning error by Adam Kennedy came back to haunt the Nats because it was that runner that scored the winning run. The Nats drop to 25-26 and are tied for 4th place in the NL East.

Pitching:

Livan Hernandez put in another good effort by pitching 6.1 innings while only giving up 2 runs. Doug Slaten, Drew Storen and Tyler Clifford pitched 2.2 innings of shut out relief. Sean Burnett took the lost as he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up one run. Matt Capps gave up the game winning hit.

Hitting:

The Nats scored only two runs on seven hits. Adam Dunn led the Nats with 3 hits, but Ryan Zimmerman hit two homers which accounted for the Nats only runs. It was Zimmerman's 100th and 101st homers of his career.
