KABOOM Goes the Bullpen! Mets rally and beat the Nats, 8-6.

The Nats were rolling along after 7 and 1/2 innings and were leading 6-2 over the Mets. The bullpen showed cracks and fell apart while giving up 6 runs in their 8-6 lost. The Nats are currently 18-15 and are tied for second in the NL East.


Pitching:

Scott Olsen had a respectful effort by pitching 5 1/3 innings while giving up 2 runs. Doug Slaten and Tyler Walker combined for 1.2 innings of shut out relief. But the combination of Brian Bruney and Tyler Clifford gave up 6 runs in only 1/3 of an inning of relief. Miguel Batista clean up and pitched .2 of an inning without giving of an run.

Hitting:

The Nats scored 6 runs on 9 hits. Cristen Guzman and Wily Taveras led the Nats as they both got 2 hits apiece. Adam Dunn hit his 7th homer of the year and had 3 RBI.
