Lannan Struggles and Nats lose to the Tigers, 7-4.

The Nats scored early, but John Lannan could not keep the Detroit Tigers' bat down in a 7-4 lost. The Nats took a 4-2 lead going into the bottom of the 4th inning, but then allowed two runs which tied the game. The Tiger then took the led for good by scoring 3 runs in the 5th inning. The Nats drop to 31-34 and are in last place in the NL East.


Pitching:

John Lannan pitched only 4.1 innings and allowed 7 runs. The bullpen of Tyler Walker and Sean Burnett pitched 3.2 innings of shut out relief.


Hitting:

The Nats scored 4 runs on seven hits, but all of the runs came in the first 4 innings. Nyjer Morgan and Josh Willingham led the Nats with two hits a piece. Micheal Morse hit his second homer of the year.
