Stephen's Star Shines Brignt! Nats tops the Pirates, 5-2.

Stephen Strasburg did not disappoint the Home Crowd in his MLB debut which was also his first victory! He pitched 7 innings while giving up only two runs in the 5-2 win over the Pirates. Strasburg establish a Nats record in his 1st start with 14 Strikeouts! The Nats did trail in this game after 4 innings but were able to come back by scoring 3 run tin the six inning. The Nats improve to 28-31 and are tied for 4th place in the NL East.


Pitching:

Strasburg was excellent picking up his first victory in his 1st MLB start. The Clip and Save show reappeared in last night's game. Tyler Clifford and Matts Capps combined for 2 shut out innings of relief. Capps picked up his 19th save of the year.



Hittting:

The Nats scored 5 runs on eleven hits. Adam Dunn and Ryan Zimmerman led the Nats with 3 hits a piece. Dunn, Zimmerman and Josh Willingham all hit homers in the victory. Dunn had 2 RBI.
