Nats let one slip away against the Astros, 8-7.

The punch less Astros found some punch against the Nats last night as they outlasted the DC Boys by a score of 8-7. The Nats who were down the whole game last night found a way and led in the bottom of the 9th by one run. But the Astros scored two in the 9th to win the game. The Nats are now 26-27 and are last place of the NL East.


Pitching:

Craig Stammen struggled the whole game as he pitched 5 innings while giving up 5 runs. Drew Storen gave up a run in his one inning of work. Sean Burnett, Doug Slaten and Miguel Batista pitched a combined 2.2 innings of shut out relief. Matt Capps took the lost as he blew his second save of the year by pitching .2 inning while giving up 2 runs.


Hitting:

The Nats scored 7 runs on 8 hits. Three Nats had two hits a piece.
