Nats beat the Bucs in a Sloppy Event, 7-5.

The Nats overcame themselves and the Pirates in a 7-5 victory. The Nats made physical and mental mistakes in a close game last night. The Nats fought hard and pulled out their second straight victory. The Nats improve to 29-31 and are in fourth place of the NL East.


Pitching:

John Lannan did not have a very good outing as he pitched only 4.2 innings while giving up 5 runs. The bullpen was outstanding last night. Tyler Walke, Drew Storen, Tyler Clifford and Matt Capps combined for 4.1 innings of shut out relief. Storen picked up his 2 second victory of the year and Capps earned his 20th save.


Hitting:

The Nats scored 7 runs on 10 hits. Roger Bernadina led the Nats with 3 hits. Adam Dunn hit his 12th homer of the year with 2 RBI.
