Nats Sweep Pirates, 4-2.

The Nats got their first sweep of the year as they defeated the Pirates by a score of 4-2. The Nats solid pitching, decent defensive and power hitting led them to this sweep. The Nats improve to 30-31 and are in 4th place of NL East.


Pitching:

Livan Hernandez picked up his 5th victory of the year as he pitched six solid inning while giving up only two runs. Hernandez's earn run average is still only 2.28!! Sean Burnett had one of his finest outings as he pitched two shut out innings in relief. Tyler Clifford picked up his first MLB save of his career.


Hitting:

The Nats scored 4 runs on 10 hits. Micheal Morse led the Nats with three hits. The Nats' power bats were on hand in this victory. Adam Dunn, Josh Willingham and Morse all hit homers in the game. Dunn now has hit homers in three consecutive game! Morse's homer was his first of the year.
