The Nats' bats were once again MIA in a 1-0 lost to the Royals. Stephen Strasburg was the tough luck loser in the pitching match up against the Royals' Brian Bannister. Strasburg gave up 9 hits, but only gave up the one run combined with nine strikeouts in his six innings of work. He once again set a MLB record with 41 strikeouts in his first four starts as a a MLBer. The Nats drop to 33-40 and are in last place of the NL East.
Pitching:
Strasburg was aided by Sean Burnett and Doug Slaten who combined for 3 innings of shut out relief.
Hitting:
The Nats scored no runs on six hits. Adam Dunn led the Nats with 2 hits.
