The Nats won another one run game against the Royals, 4-3. It was the Nats second straight victory and a series win. The Nats were led by solid starting pitching and powering hitting for the second straight game. The Nats are currently 33-39 and in last place of NL East.
Pitching:
Luis Atilano pitched 5.1 innings while only giving up one run in his 6th victory of the year. Joe Peralta, Drew Storen and Tyler Clifford all combined for 2.2 innings of shut out relief. Matt Capps got his 22nd save of the year despite giving up 2 runs in his one inning appearance.
Hitting:
The Nats scored 4 runs on 11 hits. Josh Willingham led the Nats with three hits. Willingham his a solo shot homer which was the 100th of his career. Adam Dunn added his 17th homer of the year.
