Marlins out slug the Nats, 9-6.

Marlins 9 Nats 6

The Marlins had the lead early and never gave it up as they beat our beloved Nats, 9-6. The closest the Nats got was 6-5 as Josh Willingham hit a two run home run in the 5th inning.

Pitching:

Starter Garret Mock only pitched 3 innings while giving up 6 runs. Saul Rivera gave up 3 runs in 2.2 innings of relief work. The remainding bullpen work Jason Bergmann, Jorge Sosa, Tyler Clippard and Mike MacDougal gave up no runs in 3.1 innings of combined relief work.


Batting:

The Nats collected 13 hits and scored 6 runs, but left 9 men on base. The Nats were led by Adam Dunn 3 hits. Ryan Zimmerman and Alberto Gonzalez each tripled while Willingham added his 22nd homer of the year.

The Nats dropped to 46-89 and continue to be in last place of the NL.
