Nats Win a Wild One Against the Phillies, 8-7.

The Nats won a wild one last night at Nationals Park. The Nats took a 8-2 led into the 9th inning only to see the Phillies score five runs while having the game tying and led run on the bases. The game ended when Ryan Howard hit into a double play! WOW! What and ending.
Pitching:

Starter Livan Hernandez pitched 7.1 innings while giving up oly two runs. Sean Burnett finished up the eighth inning by pitch 2/3 of inning while giving no runs. The bullpen then blew up as Zach Segovia pitched 1/3 of an inning as he gave up 5 RUNS! Mike MacDougal was not able to record any outs in his appearance, but Ron Villone was able to get the last two outs on the Howard’s double play.

Batting:

The Nats collected nine hits and scored 8 runs!!!!! The Nats were led by Willie Harris and Ian Desmond who both had two hits apiece. Adam Dunn added his 36th homer of the year with a two run blast. But the night belonged to newcomer Desmond as he hit his first career homer which almost hit the Red Porch and also had four RBI!

Record:

The Nats improve to 48-92 and continue to be in last place of the NL.

Next Game:

The Nats next game is today in Florida as J.D. Martin takes on the Marlins’ Josh Johnson at 7:10pm.
