Marlins Smack the Nats, 11-3.

The Nats’ pitching gave up eleven runs while the offense only manage threes run on ten hits in the 11-3 lost to the Marlins.

Pitching:

Starter Marco Estrada pitched only 2.1 innings while giving up five runs. The bullpen of Saul Rivera and Ross Detwiler keep the game close as they pitched 2.2 innings of work as they did not give up the run. But relievers Logan Kensing, Victor Garate, and Zack Segovia gave up runs in a combine 3 innings of relief work.

Batting:

The Nats collected 10 hits, but only scored 3 runs while they left nine men on base !!!!! The Nats were led by Ian Desmond and Justin Maxwell. Desmond went four for four while Maxwell hit his first two homers of the year.

Record:

The Nats dropped to 49-93 and continue to be in last place of the NL.

The Nats next game is today in Florida as John Lannan takes on the Marlins’ Chris Volstad at 1:10pm.
