Phillies dominated the Nats, 6-1

Phillies 6 Nats 1

Nats fell to the Phillies once again as the game was close after seven innings which the Phillies held a 2-0 led. The Phillies broke the game open on a Jason Werth grand slam in the 8th inning. The Nats finally scored in the series with a run in the ninth.

Pitching:

Starter Livan Hernandez pitched a solid six innings while only giving up two runs. The bullpen of Tyler Clippard, Sean Burnett and Jason Bergmann gave four runs in one inning! Zack Segovia did pitched one inning of shutout relief.

Batting
The Nats collected eight hits while only scoring one run! The Nats left ten men on base!!! The Nats were led by Ian Desmond and Wil Nieves who both had two hits apiece. Willie Harris had the only RBI for the Nats.

Record:

The Nats dropped to 50-95 and continue to be in last place of the NL.

Next Game:

The Nats next game is today in Philadelphia as Ross Detwiler takes on the Phillies’ Cole Hamels at 7:05pm.
