Walk it off Mr. Orr!!: Nats Win!!, 5-4

Nats 5 Dodgers 4

The Nats won an exciting game last night as Pete Orr won the game with a walk off sac fly. The game had many highs and low. The Highs: Ryan Zimmerman’s three run homer to tie the game, Elijah Dukes throwing out a key runner at the plate early in the game, Justin Maxwell stealing 3rd base in the 9th inning and Orr’s sac fly. The Lows: Dodgers’ Chad Billngsley no hitting the Nats for the first five innings and Cristen Guzman’s two errors.

Pitching:

Starter Ross Detwiler pitched 5.2 innings while giving up three runs. The bullpen of Jason Bergmann, Tyler Clippard, Mike MacDougal, Sean Burnett and Saul Rivera gave up one run in a combined 3.2 innings. Rivera picked up his first win of the year.

Batting

The Nats collected five hits while scoring five runs!!! The Nats were lead by Ryan Zimmerman 31st homer of the year and his three RBI which gave him a 100 on the year. But please let’s not forget Maxwell key stolen base in the ninth lead which lead to Orr’s game winning sac fly.

Record:

The Nats improve to 52-99 and continue to be in last place of the NL.

Next Game:

The Nats next game is tomorrow in NatsTown as J.D. Martin takes on the L.A. Dodgers’ Vicente Padilla at 7:05pm.
