Nats lose last two games of the road trip to the Padres, 4-1 and 7-0.

Padres 4 Nats 1

The Nats lost again in another well pitched game. Clayton Richard outpitched J.D. Martin. The Nats only managed 4 hits in the game while leaving five men on base in the lost

Pitching:

Starter J.D Martin pitched six strong inning and giving up 3 runs. The bullpen of Sean Burnett, Jason Bergmann, and Tyler Clippard gave up one run in their combine two innings of work.


Batting:

The Nats collected only 4 hits and scored 1 run. Four Nats got a hit and was highlighted by Josh Bard 4th homer of the year.

The Nats dropped to 46-87 and continue to be in last place of the NL East.


Padres 7 Nats 0

The Nats bats came up empty against the Padres as they got sweep in San Diego, 7-0.


Pitching:

Starter John Lannan pitched 5 innings and allowed 5 runs. The bullpen of Saul Rivera, Jorge Sosa, and Mike MacDougal allowed two runs in their 3 innings of combined work.

Batting:

The Nats collected only 4 hits and got shut out. The Nats were led by Ryan Zimmerman two hits.
