Mets Edge Nats, 3-2.

The Nats lost a pitcher duel as the Mets won 3-2. The game was really decided on two plays. The first was a misplay by RF Ian Desmond. It was Desmond first time playing the outfield as a Major Leaguer. The second was Adam Dunn’s error. The two plays led to runs which was the difference in the lost.

Pitching:

Starter John Lannan dropped to 8-12 by pitching 7 innings while giving up only three runs. Tyler Clippard finished the game for the Nats by pitching a scoreless eighth inning.

Batting

The Nats collected five hits while two runs. Five different Nats had hits. Dunn picked up his 100th RBI of the year.

Record:

The Nats dropped to 51-97 and continue to be in last place of the NL.
