Heartbreak in Houston, Nats lose to Astros, 6-4.

The Nats found a way to get the led in the ninth inning as they struggled the whole game. But the Nats could not close the deal in Houston and lost 6-4. The defensive woes are catching with the Nats as Cristian Guzman's 9th inning error (3rd in the game) in right field cost the Nats the game. The Nats are currently 26-29 and are in last place of the NL East.


Pitching:

J.D Martin pitched 5.2 innings while giving up 3 runs which two were earned. Drew Storen and Tyler Clippard pitched a combined 2.1 of shut out relief. Matt Capps blew his 3rd save of the year as he gave up 3 runs which all were unearned in his .2 inning of work.

Hitting:

The Nats scored 4 runs on twelve hits. Three Nats had two hits a piece.

  1. These close losses are games that young teams lose and veteran teams win. With good pitching and the addition of Strasburg, things will only continue to look up.
