Cards are too much for JZ, 6-2

Jordan Zimmermann took his first MLB lost in a 6-2 defeat to the St. Louis Cardinals, 6-2. Zimmermann made their major mistakes which were 3 home runs which resulted in 5 runs in 5 2/3 innings.

The Nats's offense was lead by Jesus Flores, Nick Johnson and Ryan Zimmerman who each had two hits a piece. Flores had his second triple in two day.s The only runs by the Nats came from Willie Harris' two run homer in the seventh inning. Zimmerman continue his hitting streak which is now at 20 games.

The Nats drop to 5-17 and continue to be in the cellar of the NL East.

The Nats play a home day game today as Shairon Martis takes on the Cards' Joel Pineiro at 1:05pm.
