Nats lose in the tenth to the Pirates, 8-5

The Nats fought back from a 5-1 deficit and tied the game in the 9th and even have the winning run in scoring position. The Nats did not take advantage of the situation and allowed the Pirates to scored three runs in the 10th to lose.

Starter Sharion Martis did not have his best outing but still pitched 6 innings and allowed 5 runs. The bullpen was effective for the seventh, eighth and ninth innings with the pitching of Ron Villone and Joe Beimel. Beimel though had a terrible 10th inning and took the lost.

The Nats offense supplied five runs again this evening with eight hits. The Nats' were lead by Anderson Hernandez and Wil Nieves who both had two hits apiece.
