Nats are nipped by the O's again, 2-1

The Nats once again fell to the Orioles ,2-1, due to the lack of offense. I bet no one was expecting the pitching that has been pitched so far in this series. The Nats have managed only a total of three runs in 21 innings!

Starter Ross Detwiler had his A game going. He only gave up one run and one hit in 6 innings. The run that he gave up was due to walking the bases loaded and Willie Harris' mental breakdown of covering second base. Julian Taveraz took the lost in his 2/3 innings of work. Ron Villone gave up the big hit as he gave up a triple to Aubrey Huff in a lefty-lefty match-up in his 1/3 inning of work. Jason Bergmann and Joel Hanrahan pitched a scoreless 8th and 9th.

The offense managed one run on seven hits. Adam Dunn had two hits and Cristen Guzman homer accounted for the Nats' run.

Yesterday's box score is the following:

The Nats drop to 12-30 and continue to take up last place residency of the NL East.

The last game of the homestand has Sharion Martis taking on the O's Brad Bergesen at 1:35pm.
