Pirates pounds Nats, 12-7

Pirates only got three runs off Nat starter Ross Detwiler who pitched five innings, but scored 9 runs of the Nats' bullpen in their 12-6 victory over the Washington. The Nats' relievers Garret Mock, Jesus Colome, Kip Wells and Joel Hanrahan were tagged for those 9 runs in only four innings. Joe Beimel was the only reliever not to give up a run. Mock blew his second save and took the lost.

The Nats' offense was impressive once again with eleven hits and scored 7 runs! Cristen Guzman, Ryan Zimmerman and Josh Bard all hit two hits apiece. Zimmerman and Nick Johnson both homered in the game. Johnson lead the Nats with 3 RBI.
