Martis goes the distance as Nats top Cardinals, 6-1.

Martis made the bullpen issue a mute point by pitching a complete game masterpiece. He went all nine inning giving up only five hits and one run. The complete game was the first by a National since 2006 and the first at Nationals Park.

The offense was lead by Anderson Hernandez, Austin Kearns, and Ryan Zimmerman who each had two hits a piece. Adam Dunn added a three run homer. Zimmerman extended his hitting streak to 21 games.

The Nats to improve to 6-17 and continue to be in last place of the NL East.

The Nats finish the home four game set versus the Cardinals today by having John Lannan taking on the Cardinals' Kyle Lohse at 1:35pm.
