Giants homer sinks Nats in the ninth, 9-7.

The Nats came all the way back in the 8th from a 5-1 deceit to take a 7-5 lead. The Nats gave it all back in the last two innings giving up 4 runs and 3 came on a walk off homer by Giants' Pablo Sandoval to lose 9-7. Jordan Zimmermann was not sharp by pitching six innings and giving up 6 runs. Relievers Julian Taravez pitched one inning with out giving up a run. Kip Wells allowed one run on a homer for his one inning of work. But Joe Beimel gave up a 3 run walk off homer to Sandoval to have a blown save and a lost.

The Nats offense did not slow down and had 13 hits last night. The Nats were lead by Wil Nieves 3 hits. Ryan Zimmerman, Nick Johnson, and Cristen Guzman all had two hits apiece. Johnson had his third homer of the year and 5 RBI. Zimmerman extended his hitting streak to 30 games.

Last night's box score is the following:

The Nats drop to 10-21 and continue to be in last place of the NL East.

The Nats have a get-away day in SF as Shairon Martis takes on the Giants' Barry Zito at 3:45pm.
