Nats paste Red Sox, 9-3.

The Nats finished their home stand against the Red Sox in style! The Nats started early and finished late in a 9-3 victory over the Red Sox. The Nationals finished up 5-7 against the top three teams in the AL East.


Pitching:

Jordan Zimmermann pitched very well by going 7 innings and giving up only one run for his third victory of the year. Tyler Clippard, recent call up, did not fair as well by giving up two runs in two innings.

Batting:

The Nats collected 11 hits, and scored 9 runs. The Nats were led by Josh Bard and Willie Harris who both had three hits a piece. Josh Willingham added two hits. Harris hit his third homer of the year. Cristen Guzman, Anderson Hernandez, Bard and Harris all had two RBI each.

Record:

The Nats improved to 21-49 and continue to be in last place of the NL East.

Next Game:

The Nats will next start a road trip against their up road rival Baltimore Orioles on Friday, June 26. The Nats will have Ross Detwiler taking on the O’s Brian Bergesen at 7:05pm.
