The Nats were in a close ball game against the Red Sox with the scored tied at threes for six innings, but then the flood gates opened. The Red Sox scored 8 runs in the last three innings and six of them came in the 8th in a 11-3 lost
Pitching:
John Lannan did not have his best game of the year, but he kept his team in the game for 6.1 inning and left with the scored tied at 3. The bullpen imploded once again with Julian Tavarez, Ron Villone, Kip Wells, Jesus Colome and Joel Hanrahan all contributed giving up 8 runs in 2 and 2/3 innings. Tavarez took the lost.
Batting:
The Nats collected 7 hits, but managed to score only 3 runs. Cristen Guzman and Ryan Zimmerman led the way with two hits a piece for the Nats.

The Nats dropped to 20-48 and continue to be in last place of the NL East.
