Nats return favor and nips Reds, 3-2.

The Nats scored two runs in the 8th inning to comeback and beat the Reds, 3-2. The Nats finish the home stand 2-7.


Pitching: Starter John Lannan pitched well enough to win by pitching six innings and giving up only 2 runs. Reliever Julian Tavarez pitched two scoreless innings to get his second victory of the year. Joe Beimel closed the game to earn his first save of the year.


Batting:

The Nats were able to get nine hits, but left 14 men on base. The Nats were able to score three runs to win the game. Josh Willingham led the Nats with two hits.

Record:

The Nats improve to 16-42 and continue to stay in last place of the NL East.


Next Game:

The Nats start a Inter League road trip tonight at Tampa Bay. Craig Stammen takes on the Rays' Matt Garza at 7:38pm.
