Reds top Nats in twelve, 4-2.

The Nats came back from an 2-0 deficit and tied the game in the 9th to force the game into extra innings. But Ron Villone allowed his first run of the year and the Nats lost in 12.

Pitching:

Starter Sharion Martis pitched very well by pitching 7 innings and allowing only two runs. Relievers Joel Hanrahan, Joe Beimel, and Mike MacDougal combined to pitch four scoreless innings. But relievers Ron Villone and Jason Bergmann gave up two runs combined in one inning of work.


Batting:

The Nats only got two runs in the ninth and a total of seven hits. Cristen Guzman and Josh Bard led the Nats with two hits a piece. Bard and Alberto Gonzalez got the two RBI in last night's game.

Record: The Nats drop to 15-42 and stay in last place of the NL East.


Next Game:

The Nats finish their 3 game home set with the Reds with a get away game as John Lannan takes on the Reds' Micah Ownings at 4:35pm.
