The Nats had bad luck today! The Nats again took the lead early in the ball game with a 4 to nothing lead. The Rays came all the way back by scoring on a ball that hit third base and brought in the go ahead run which turned out to be the winner by the score of 5-4 in the 8th inning.
Pitching:
Ross Detwiler had a decent outing by pitching six innings, but gave up four runs. The big blow was a homer by the Rays’ Gabe Kabler which tied the game. Julian Tavarez pitched an inning of shut out relief. But Ron Villone took the lost who gave up the run that cost the Nats the game in his 1/3 innings of work. Joe Beimel finished up the game for the Nats.
Batting:
The Nats collected 9 hits and scored four runs in the lost. Alberto Gonzalez, Nick Johnson and Elijah Dukes all had two hits a piece. Gonzalez added 3 RBI.

The Nats drop to 16-45 and continue to be in last place of the NL East.
